Working in Greg Falco's ADVERSARY lab to develop a highly robust, manufacturable drone for use in the
MAGPIE project. These drones will be used as a testbed for MARL-based policies for evasive behavior.
This project has been funded by Anduril.
First version of the drone design, with all electronics mounted and connected.
Current drone (work in progress) with carbon fiber inserts inside the frame to increase
frame strength. We're doing that instead of a full carbon fiber frame for now to keep structural
costs down, to ~$4 per drone frame.
We are also using these drones to create a hardware fault detection system. Drone development is only
increasing, and we feel that the hardware development cycle of a drone can be reduced with with some
system which can identify hardware issues or inefficiencies during test flights. This should help reduce
the time to operation for drones.
